What This Tool Does

This volume changer makes an audio file louder or quieter — rescue a quiet voice memo, tame an overly loud track, or normalize a clip before sharing it. Drop a file, drag the volume slider anywhere from 0 to 300%, listen to the live preview, and save the result as MP3 or WAV.

Everything happens on your device: your browser decodes the audio, applies the gain, and encodes the output. There is no upload step and nothing is stored anywhere.

Boosting Without Surprises

The preview plays the exact processing chain that gets saved, so clipping is never a surprise:

  1. Drag the slider — the percentage updates live, even while playing.
  2. Press Play and adjust until it sounds right.
  3. Save. What you heard is what you get.
Tip: If a boost starts to sound crunchy or harsh, that's clipping — pull the slider back a little. Small boosts (110–150%) are usually safe; extreme ones depend on how loud the source already is.

More Than Volume

The volume slider lives inside a small audio studio. The same editor has a Trim tab (cut a region, fade in/out) and a 10-band Equalizer tab — everything you enable is applied together in one export, so you can trim a clip, boost it, and EQ it without re-uploading anything between steps.

Your Audio Never Leaves Your Device

The decoder is the browser's own; the MP3 encoder is a small WebAssembly build of LAME that loads on first save. Close the tab and nothing remains.

Is this volume changer free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no limits. Everything runs inside your browser, so there is no server to pay for.
Does my audio get uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded, previewed, and re-encoded locally using the Web Audio API. Nothing leaves your device.
How loud can I make a file?
Up to 300% of the original. Above 100%, parts that were already loud may clip — the preview lets you hear exactly what you'll get before saving.
What is clipping and how do I avoid it?
Clipping happens when boosted audio exceeds full scale and gets flattened, which sounds harsh. If you hear distortion in the preview, lower the volume until it disappears.
Can I change the volume of just one section?
The volume applies to the part you keep: use the trim handles to select a region first, then boost it and save. Cutting and boosting happen in one pass.
Which formats can I load and save?
Load MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, or FLAC — anything your browser decodes. Save as MP3 (high-quality VBR) or uncompressed WAV.
Why does the preview sound exactly like the saved file?
The preview and the export run through the same audio processing chain with identical settings, so what you hear on Play is what gets encoded.
Can I combine volume with other effects?
