CalConverters is a collection of free online calculators and file tools. This page explains what data reaches us, what does not, and what control you have.
The short version
We have no accounts and no logins. We collect no names, no email addresses, and no form submissions. Our file tools run entirely inside your browser — the files you open never reach our servers. Two things involve a third party on every page: advertising, which is how the site stays free, and a visitor-counting tool that tells us which pages get used. A few individual tools also load resources from other services, listed further down.
Files you open in our tools
Our image, PDF, audio, video, JSON, data, archive, security, QR code, 3D and file comparison tools run inside your own browser tab — most as WebAssembly, some as ordinary JavaScript. When you open a file with one of them, that file is read by your browser and processed on your device. It is never uploaded, never transmitted, and never stored by us. Closing the tab discards it.
Data stored on your device
Anything you type or paste into one of our tools may be kept in your browser's local storage, so that a reload or an accidentally closed tab does not lose your work. That covers the documents you write, the text you compare, your recent calculations, and drafts in the text-to-speech studio. Your preferences are kept the same way: light or dark theme, recent tool searches, and the settings you choose inside individual tools. The file comparison tools also remember the name and size of the files you opened, so they can show you what you were last working on — never the file contents themselves.
Our text-to-speech studio also downloads a voice model and stores it in your browser's IndexedDB so it does not have to be downloaded again on your next visit. Voice models are large — typically tens of megabytes, depending on which voice you choose. You can remove them, and everything else described in this section, at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
None of this data leaves your device, and we cannot read it.
Advertising
We show advertising through Google AdSense, and that advertising pays for the site. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies and read device information in order to select and measure ads.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent dialog appears on your first visit. It is provided by Google's certified consent management platform and lists the advertising partners involved. Your choice is recorded and respected.
- Choosing Accept all allows personalised advertising.
- Choosing Reject all does not remove advertising, but the ads you see will be non-personalised — selected without using your data.
You can change your decision at any time using the Privacy preferences link in the site footer. On our full-screen tools — the editors and the file comparison pages — it is in the "More actions" menu in the toolbar instead.

Other services these tools use
A few individual tools fetch resources from other providers. Those providers see your IP address, and two of them see a little more:
- Hugging Face — the text-to-speech studio downloads voice models from there.
- jsDelivr — the Markdown preview, and the PDF exported by both the Markdown preview and the HTML-to-Markdown converter, load a mathematics stylesheet and the fonts it references.
- Google Fonts — the favicon generator loads the fonts you can choose from, including the one it starts with.
- unpkg — the code sandbox downloads the compiler it runs your code with. This one starts as soon as the sandbox page opens, before you do anything.
- esm.sh — the code sandbox resolves the packages your code imports, so it also sees which packages you asked for.
- npm — the code sandbox's package search sends what you type in its search box to the npm registry.
These requests happen only when you use the tool in question.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which tools people actually use, so we know what to build and fix next. It records the pages you open, how you arrived, roughly which part of the world you are in, and what kind of device and browser you use. It never receives anything you type or open inside a tool — those stay on your device, as described above.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics starts switched off: nothing is stored on your device for it unless you allow it in the same consent dialog that covers advertising, and you can change that decision at any time through Privacy preferences.
Anywhere else, you can opt out in every browser you use with Google's opt-out add-on, or by blocking the tag with any ad or tracker blocker.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting infrastructure records standard request logs, which include IP addresses and browser user-agent strings. These are used to keep the service running and secure, and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile of you.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
If you are in a jurisdiction with data protection rights — such as the GDPR in the EEA and the UK — you have the right to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no accounts and no user records, in practice the data relevant to you is held by Google as our advertising and analytics provider, and the consent dialog is where you control it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
