Why Use This Tool?

Spotify is the world's largest music streaming platform and a major podcast host. All images on Spotify require the same 3000×3000 pixel square format — whether it's album art, a podcast cover, a playlist cover, or an artist photo. Starting with a properly sized image prevents quality loss from Spotify's compression and ensures your cover looks sharp on everything from phone screens to large desktop displays.

Privacy First — 100% Client-Side

Your images are processed entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded to any server. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet after loading the page — the tool works offline.

Tip: Spotify displays album art and playlist covers at many different sizes — from tiny 40×40px in mobile lists to full-screen on desktop. Designing at 3000×3000 gives you enough resolution to look sharp at every size. Use bold, high-contrast artwork that's recognizable even as a thumbnail.

Tips for Spotify Images

  • 3000×3000 is the standard for all Spotify images. Uploading smaller images results in upscaling artifacts and blurry results at larger display sizes.
  • Podcast cover art goes through an RSS feed or hosting platform — many podcast hosts require 3000×3000 minimum and JPG format specifically.
  • Album art is submitted through your music distributor (DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby, etc.). Each distributor may have slightly different requirements but 3000×3000 JPG works universally.
  • Playlist covers can be changed anytime from the Spotify app. Keep the main design simple — playlist thumbnails are tiny in most discovery surfaces.
  • For podcast covers, Spotify recommends text be large enough to read at 300×300 (1/10 of full size). Test readability at small sizes before publishing.
