What This Tool Does

Add Page Numbers to PDF stamps a base-10 number or custom text onto every page at the position and size you choose, then gives you back the updated file — without anything leaving your browser. Drop a PDF, set the format and position, and download.

Page numbers are applied as an overlay text layer; they do not alter the underlying content or require re-rendering the pages.

Tip: For text with accents or multiple languages (Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic), use Watermark instead — page numbers are ASCII-only base-14 text.

Choose Your Format and Position

Pick the page number format: plain digits (1, 2, 3…), with a count (1/10, 2/10…), the word Page (Page 1 of 100), or completely custom text. Place the numbers in a corner, centered top or bottom, or along any edge. Control the font size, color (RGB or hex), and distance from the margin.

Set the Starting Number and Range

Change the starting page number if your PDF is the middle of a longer document. Optionally skip the first few pages or number only a specific range.

Frequently asked questions

What page number formats are supported?
Page numbers can be stamped as plain digits (1, 2, 3…), with a total count (1/10, 2/10…), with the word Page (Page 1 of 100), or custom text that you supply — all base-10 Arabic numerals.
Can I number only some pages?
Yes. You can set a starting page number and choose which pages get numbered — apply to all pages or skip the first few, or define a custom range.
Where can the page numbers go?
Page numbers can be placed in all four corners, centered at the top, centered at the bottom, or along the edges. You control the size, color, and margin distance from the edge.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
