How to read this number line
Each row spans the same length — from 0 on the left to 1 on the right — but is divided into a different number of equal parts. The top row (1/2) splits that span in half; the row below (1/3) splits it into thirds; and so on down to your chosen max denominator. A tick mark appears at every fraction n/d on its row, so 3/4 shows up as the third of four ticks on the quarters row.
Because every row covers the exact same 0-to-1 span, fractions that equal the same value always land at the exact same horizontal position, no matter which row they're on.
